It has been a roller coaster of a season already for Desert Ridge in 2016. They start off with a disappointing loss in California to Norco in week one. For their second game, they traveled down to Tucson and got their first win but would have valuables and belongings stolen from their locker room. Head Coach Jeremy Hathcock mentioned that there had been some fights within in the team and they have needed to come together.
Friday night in Mesa, it might have all come together. Standing in front of them for their home opener was the Hamilton Huskies whom the Jaguars have not beaten in their school history. One of those loses came in a state championship game.
But the monkey has now come off the back of Desert Ridge as they beat the powerhouse Hamilton Huskies for the first time in school history, 36-20. Haley Stesiak caught up with Coach Hathcock after the game which also tallied his 100th career win.
