Devils split games at Great Northwest Showcase

Arizona Sports News online

The Arizona State University hockey program continued to display its emergence as an up and coming program last weekend as the Sun Devil DI team traveled to the Great Northwest Showcase in British Columbia. The showcase displayed some of the world’s elite prospects.

The Devils encountered a tough University of British Columbia team Friday, December 28th falling to the Thunderbirds 8-2.  Greg Powers’ club bounced back on Saturday toppling Simon Fraser 5-3. ASU continues to shine offensively, leading AHCA skaters with seven scorers in the top 10 led by left winger Kale Dolinski with 37 points in just 24 games.

The top ranked Sun Devils are now 21-3 and take on Minot State January 3 and Williston State January 4.  Both matches will played at Oceanside Arena in Tempe with the puck dropping at 8 p.m.

Sun Devil Hockey is a club team and depends on fan support for a large part of its funding. Don’t miss the Valley’s best hockey, Sun Devil Hockey.
