The Arizona Diamondbacks have now lost their fifth straight series with a loss against the A’s on Sunday. Starting pitching has been there, but offensively the bats haven’t been consistently hot for the D-backs who started out the season with nine consecutive series wins.

Pitching
The weekend at the Coliseum saw some good pitching from the Diamondbacks.
On Friday, Patrick Corbin was looking sharp, going seven innings and allowing one run on four hits with seven strikeouts. Yoshi Hirano came on in the eighth and held the A’s scoreless, then Andrew Chafin closed it out in the ninth with two strikeouts.
Clay Buchholz got his second start with the D-backs on Saturday. Buchholz went six innings allowing only one run on two hits. The quiet bats couldn’t back up Buchholz’s strong start however, and Jorge De La Rosa and Fernando Salas each gave up a run allowing the A’s to edge the D-backs.
On Sunday, Zack Greinke went six innings allowing two runs on six hits. Greinke had three walk and five strikeouts.

Andrew Chafin went 2/3 of an inning with a walk and a strikeout, Archie Bradley close out that inning with a strikeout and Yoshi Hirano closed the game with two strikeouts, but again, the bats couldn’t get going late.
Friday’s W
On Friday in Oakland, the Diamondbacks bats came alive in the 7-1 win that snapped a seven-game losing streak.
Nick Ahmed went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. John Ryan Murphy, Paul Goldschmidt and Jake Lamb all had doubles, while Ketel Marte and Goldschmidt also tripled on the night. Lamb went 2 for 3.
