The Diamondbacks split a four-game series with the Mets on Sunday. After taking the first two of the series, the D-backs’ offense couldn’t get going on Saturday and then a blown save by Brad Boxberger on Sunday led to the split.

Blown Save
Boxberger came on in the ninth with a 3-1 lead looking to close it out to take the series, but couldn’t get it done. With two outs, Boxberger allowed a single, a double, then back-to-back home runs to give the Mets the edge in the final inning.

Sunday was Boxberger’s third blown save of the season.
Mets capitalize on Corbin’s mistakes
Patrick Corbin didn’t have his best start on Saturday. Corbin went six innings, but allowed five runs on eight hits, including a home run, with seven strikeouts.

D-backs’ Offense
The Diamondbacks offense was quiet on Saturday, but the D-backs’ bats have been loud especially recently.

Paul Goldschmidt has reached base safely in 18 of his last 19 games and is batting at .490 in his last 16 games.
David Peralta has 14 home runs on the season matching his season total in 2017.
The Diamondbacks lead the Major Leagues with 27 triples, with Ketel Marte leading the way in the National League with seven.
The month of June has been a good one for the D-backs after a tough May, which got really off track after being swept by the Mets in the middle of the month. Here in mid-June, the Diamondbacks have scored 103 runs in 16 games, compared to only 77 runs scored in all of May.
Next up
The Diamondbacks will head to LA to take on the Angels for a two-game set for the first time since 2015. Probable starters for the series are Zack Greinke on Monday and Matt Koch on Tuesday.
