The Arizona State Sun Devils wrapped up their summer workouts Friday with one final session in the weight room, a team run, and the breaking of the rock. The weight room rang out with clangs as the personal best bell was visited early and often as the players tested their strength at the bench press one final time. Defensive tackle Mo Latu benched 225 lbs 47 (yes 47) times, and guard Vi Teofilo tossed up 40 reps. After team conditioning, the group formed around the rock, a tablet with “summer 2015” across the top and the always-present “ETG” across the bottom. Breaking the rock has become a tradition signifying the end of summer workouts. A senior totes a hammer that would make Thor blush and catapults the Sun Devils into fall workouts in an emphatic way. This year, senior wide receiver DJ Foster had the honor of closing out summer, but had some words for his teammates before the rock met its maker.
