EXCLUSIVE-Chubba Purdy Breaks Down His Commitment to Florida State

Arizona Sports News online

A whirlwind culminated with Perry quarterback Chubba Purdy signing his National Letter of Intent with Florida State on Wednesday afternoon at the schools main auditorium. The signature wrapped up a seven-day stretch that started with a text message to Purdy from new Florida State offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham. A day later new head coach Mike Norvell offered a scholarship,  a weekend trip filled with flight delays to and from Tallahassee for a cmapus visit, and finished with a few days of soul searching between Louisville and FSU.

Purdy had given a non-binding verbal commitment to the Cardinal last June. During this past season, he didn’t take any visits and was set on joining head coach Scott Satterfields team. But with Norvell having big success at Memphis, which led to him becoming the head coach of the storied program, the thought of coming in with Norvell was simply too much to pass up.
