Each week during the season NFL Network and NFL.com Fantasy Football Editor Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.

Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (May 12th) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer as the 2014 NFL Draft is officially in the books.

The first draft pick who you would select as a rookie in an upcoming fantasy draft would be? “Bishop Sankey in Tennessee. A perfect fit and Sankey was actually the number one running back in the 2014 class on Mike Mayock’s board and I always say when Mike Mayock talks about college back I listen. Sankey has three-down back potential at the NFL level. Chris Johnson’s in New York now. Shonn Greene is 29 and coming off his second knee surgery. Dexter McCluster is in the mix there too but I really do believe that Sankey is going to be the starter there for the Titans in Week One…he is going to be a very popular pick in fantasy drafts.”

Any under-the-radar rookies to keep an eye on late in fantasy drafts? “Brandin Cooks. Now the third wide receiver [in New Orleans] at least in my opinion. He could just burn up that Superdome turf. He is just fast and that track is just going to make him even faster so I think Drew Brees is going to like him a lot in terms of the vertical pass attack. I don’t know if he is going to be very consistent but Cooks is going to be on the radar as far as a late round, number five in fantasy. Somewhere in that area.”

What rookie position is most likely to perform the best from a fantasy perspective? “When you look at last year [guys like] Eddie Lacey, guys like Gio Bernard and Zac Stacy, Le’Veon Bell. We all know rookie running backs can make an impact. Rookie running backs are the players in their first years who will make the greatest impacts.”
