Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (June 3rd) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.

What are some of the more common questions you’re getting this time of year? “One of the more common questions I’m getting this time of year is if Odell Beckham, Jr. is a first-round pick. OBJ is interesting. If you’re a Giants’ fan and you just love watching OBJ play and you want to draft him in the first round do it. Fantasy football is about fun and competition. I just wouldn’t do it because averaging 17 fantasy points per game is not easy for a wide receiver. Antonio Brown was the number one wide receiver in fantasy last year and he averaged fewer than 15. Demaryus Thomas, Dez Bryant they averaged around 14. 17 fantasy points is a lot…with Victor Cruz coming back, at least we assume he’s going to be back at some point, maybe the targets decline for [Beckham, Jr.]. He’s talented…he’s amazing. He’s a second-round pick in my opinion.”

Is Rob Gronkowski worth a first-round pick?  “I think Rob Gronkowski is worth a first-round pick although I wouldn’t take him in the first-round unless I’m at the end of the first-round and I can get a running back quickly on the turn in the second round.”

Where do you see Drew Brees going in many standard drafts this summer? “Age is catching up…Brees is 36. You can’t expect guys [like Brees] to do it forever…he falls into the fourth, fifth-round somewhere in that area.”
