Every week during the season NFL Network and NFL.com Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.
Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (December 18th) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.
What’s caught you eye from a fantasy perspective going into Week 16? “The quarterback position is going to be a huge point of contention because so many big-name quarterbacks were awful last week. Now, I’ll say this, I tell people not to get cute. I tell people they have to stick with their studs but when your studs are not producing, and I’m not just talking about one week…I can see a scenario that if you have a Tom Brady, for example, you’re starting Dak Prescott. I can see a scenario, for example, where you have Jared Goff and maybe you’re playing Baker Mayfield. That is all personal preference. Some of you like to stick with your stars but some of these guys have failed to produce on a more a consistent basis and it’s become more of a trend than a one or two-week blip on the radar.”
Most of the good waiver wire quarterbacks are gone. I have Wentz and Dak Prescott. Thoughts? “Start Dak. I get it, last week was a stinker. I get it. I’m a Cowboys’ fan. I know it was bad but the Buccaneers have not allowed a home quarterback to finish worse than 11th in fantasy points this season. They’re bad against quarterbacks on the road so start Dak.”
I have to sit two: Kamara, Henry, Cook or Chubb. What do you think Fabs? “See, this is just a humble brag. Whoever sent this question in…that’s four studs. They’re all good. If I had to pick two, Kamara is a guy who I’d have in my lineup and it would probably be Nick Chubb as the two because the Bengals defense is so bad. But, dude, you could put four faces on a dart board with those faces and just throw two and wherever they hit, those are the two guys you start because they’re all really good plays.”
Play the Vikings defense or pick up the Titans? “I’m going to go Titans here. This is close for me. After thinking about it I like Minnesota’s defense but in this case, because we’re looking at home-road, I’d rather have the defense who is at home so I’m going to go with the Titans.”
