Every week during the season NFL Network and NFL.com Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.
Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (October 11th) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.
What do you do with Dez Bryant right now? “You hold on to him until he’s back to be quite honest with you. I don’t know what his status is going to be this week. It’s too early in the week. There’s a chance he could end up playing against the Packers. Wouldn’t that be something because we all remember, at least me as a Cowboys’ fan remembers, the catch that was a catch, that wasn’t a catch…but it wasn’t a catch at Lambeau Field a few years ago in the post-season. But hold on to Bryant. Things are going to get better because they can’t get worse for Dez. He hasn’t been the same fantasy wide receiver since he’s been playing without Tony Romo. Even with Dak Prescott playing as well as a he has, Dak Prescott is not taking shots downfield. When Tony Romo returns and Jerry Jones is a man of his word and says, ‘Romo is going to be my quarterback,’ Dez Bryant’s value is going to skyrocket because Romo is going to take those shots downfield.”
I have McKinnon on a bye, who do I play: West, Ingram or Ware? “You always want to be checking the waiver wire. Ingram is a must-play this week. It’s a good matchup. The Kansas City situation is fluid though, right? I would expect Jamaal Charles to see more touches because he played a little bit the Pittsburgh game. But if Jamaal is getting healthier and this isn’t a committee, he’s going to end up being more of the guy. It’s a situation that you definitely want to monitor.”
Who are some running back options who may be decent adds? “If you’re looking for potential running backs to pick up off the waiver wire this week, there aren’t a ton of them. Cameron Artis-Payne is coming off a good game this week against the Buccaneers and he’s got a good matchup this week so he is someone you can maybe target. Jacquizz Rodgers is someone who’s looked great but he’s on a bye so you can’t really go out and get him. DeAndre Washington with the Raiders is another player you could potentially go out and get but you have to keep tabs on Latavius Murray’s status, as well.”
I’ve got the Ravens as my defense and I’m looking to stream an upgrade? “Pick up the Bills if that’s a team that’s available on the waiver wire because they have got some good match-ups moving forward. They were huge last week. The Ravens aren’t even a terrible play this week because the Giants’ offense has been so bad. But I’d rather play Tennessee defense against Cleveland because they’re a carousel of injured quarterbacks.”
