Every week during the season NFL Network and NFL.com Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.
Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (October 22nd) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.
Who are a couple of players who have lived up to your fantasy expectations heading into the season? “During the pre-season I was pretty big on John Brown. I thought he would lead the Cardinals’ wide receivers in fantasy points. Right now it’s Larry Fitzgerald but Brown has been really good in the last couple weeks with over 30 fantasy points. Allen Robinson was another guy I was pretty high on and he’s been very good.”
What do you make out of Jimmy Graham’s first season in Seattle? “I was definitely not big on Jimmy Graham [before the season] and although he is right now in the Top 10 at tight end, he’s been so inconsistent I think there’s some vindication there because I just didn’t think he was going to put up the numbers that he had in New Orleans and so far he’s on track to see a major decline in terms of his statistical success.”
How about the season Carson Palmer is having in Arizona? “I talked about him being one of the best draft bargains in fantasy football. Right now he’s sixth in points among fantasy quarterbacks. An impressive feat, especially when you consider this guy was drafted in the 10th round in nearly every league.”
Who has been your biggest fantasy bust to this point? “Brandon Cooks. I gotta take that one. Boy…Willie Snead. Really? Sometimes these players come out of nowhere. C.J. Anderson, too. I think a lot of people in the industry were high on him, especially last year. I think he was averaging 17, 18 fantasy points a game. This year he can’t get out of his own way. Ronnie Hillman now appears to be the guy to own in that Denver backfield.”
