Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (October 31st) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.

What do you make of Jay Ajayi being traded to the Eagles? “Better offense. Better offensive line. Now the one question I have is do the Eagles completely go away from LaGarrette Blount? He wasn’t putting up huge numbers but his yards-per-carry-average was pretty good. He was very solid in terms of yards-after-contact but they didn’t trade for Jay Ajayi for nothing. I assume he will end up being the starter and being as close to a featured back as you can get. We will see. Will he potentially lose some goal-line work to Blount? We’ll see. Wendell Smallwood is in the mix there, as well. But you definitely think that, based on what he’s done or not done in Miami to this point, that a move to Philadelphia is clearly an upgrade.”

So who would be the best option on the waiver wire as Ajayi’s replacement in Miami? “Now you’re looking at Kenyon Drake and Damien Williams who will clearly both be very popular waiver wire pickups. I would pick up Drake before Williams but you’re looking at a committee.”

How about the situation in Dallas with Ezekiel Elliott? “There’s no good way to replace Elliott. He’s one of the three or four best running backs in fantasy football and he’s been unreal the last few weeks. What I’ve heard is that Alfred Morris projects to be the starter but it’s going to be a backfield committee. There’s a couple different opinions as to why Darren McFadden has been inactive. One, the Cowboys like Morris more. Two, the Cowboys wanted to keep McFadden healthy so he could take over the starting role in the event Zeke is suspended. Either way, both of these guys need to be added in all leagues.”

Is Jacoby Brissett in Indianapolis worth a roster spot this week?  “Yes, because there are six teams off and because he’s got a pretty decent match-up he’s going to end up being streamed in some leagues but he hasn’t been great in terms of being a reliable fantasy starter. One week up, one week down. That kind of thing. But last week he was better than we thought he was going to be. A lot of that was because they threw the ball a ton…but a lot of that wasn’t to T.Y. Hilton.”
