Every week during the season NFL Network and NFL.com Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.
Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (October 16th) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.
What do you make of Cam Newton this week against the Eagles? “I mean, look at the numbers quarterbacks are putting up against the Eagles in Philadelphia. Kirk Cousins had a very blah game there this year. Matt Ryan had fewer than nine points there in the opener so tough matchup for Newton for sure.”
What’s your overall advice with a number of top-end quarterbacks on bye this week? “Keep in mind, there’s so many good quarterbacks out there, a lot of fantasy owners may have two of them. You could legitimately have DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes. You could legitimately have Watson and Matt Ryan for example. So, people could have some nice options just on their own bench that they could be utilizing.”
Fabs, what do I do with OJB? “You just keep playing him! What else are you going to do? You have to keep playing him and the matchup this week couldn’t be better. I mean, Atlanta’s defense is bad. So you have to keep rolling with him and…who knows…we’ll see. He’s still a must-start.”
Would you trade Michael Thomas for Alshon Jeffery and Mike Evans? “I’d rather have Michael Thomas. I’d rather keep M.T. in that deal.”
I know this a recurring theme here but any further advice with Le’Veon Bell who I own? “Here’s the issue that I have with Le’Veon Bell, aside from the fact that we haven’t seen him in the first six weeks and we may not see him for the next six weeks, we don’t know. If he comes back, say next week, then he’s going to play against the Browns. Remember, last year came back off of a much shorter break, and didn’t have a good game against the Browns. His first two games back last year he averaged about 10 PPR points per game. That’s not good. After the Browns then he’s got to go to Baltimore to face the Ravens, then he’s home for the Panthers and then he’s at Jacksonville. So the schedule is not great and this is assuming he comes back for Week Eight. He wouldn’t have played in a competitive football game since January 1st.”
