Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (December 29th) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.

It’s been a weird, unpredictable fantasy season. What will you remember most from 2015? “All of the injuries to running backs. Think about it…we lost Le’Veon Bell, Jamaal Charles, Arian Foster, Justin Forsett, Mark Ingram, Marshawn Lynch (wait I’m not done) … Dion Lewis, Carlos Hyde, Matt Forte (for a few games) and Chris Johnson. Oh, and Eddie Lacy, C.J. Anderson, Jeremy Hill, Melvin Gordon, DeMarco Murray and Joseph Randle were all busts. This was one of the seasons where the waiver wire was more critical than ever.”

What are your thoughts on Ka’Deem Carey from a fantasy perspective in 2016? “Good back but not going to make a fantasy impact while Matt Forte and Jeremy Langford are in Chicago. I think Langford is a monster sleeper in 2016, since Forte is slated to be a free agent.”

Who are some other 2016 fantasy sleepers who could break out next season? “Jay Ajayi would be a sleeper if Lamar Miller left Miami. Marcus Mariota could be very solid … imagine if the Titans hire Chip Kelly? Dorial Green-Beckham could also be a nice sleeper. Same with Brock Osweiler, and Derek Carr could break out in Oakland. Alfred Morris is a free agent, so Matt Jones could see more work in Washington. Oh, and Thomas Rawls could break out huge is Lynch is out of Seattle.”

Who are some players you expect to drop off next fall? “I mentioned Lynch, and it’s hard to see Foster getting back to an elite level at running back. Same with Forte if he lands in a RBBC next season. I really can’t see Doug Baldwin being a top-10 WR in back to back seasons, especially with Jimmy Graham back (assuming) in Seattle.”
