An hour before Sunday’s kickoff between the Cardinals and Browns, Larry Fitzgerald’s father sat down two seats from me. It’s been this way for many years. I had noticed that Fitz Sr. had posted a rather ominous tweet earlier in the afternoon, but I didn’t feel the need to ask him. A dad isn’t going to break the news of his son’s retirement with three games remaining in the regular season. Here’s what he sent out.
If today is my last after 16 years Cardinals game supporting & watching my son play in Arizona.I’m grateful for all the Arizona fan https://t.co/3l0MX1Xqh7 helping loving and always supporting him.Through it all.Who knows what the future has thank you all.?

We’ve gone through this exercise the last couple of seasons wondering if this indeed was THE final home game for #11. The script has been the same each time. He takes some time off and then is back at it the next season. We don’t want to see greatness go away, but I’m fine if Fitz decides to hang it up.
As for the game itself, Kenyon Drake scored four times as the Cardinals drilled Cleveland 38-24 in their final home game of 2019.. With the win, the Cardinals are 4-9-1 and play next week at Seattle.
