Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington was all set to represent the Cardinals at the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl by his lonesome.
It looks like he’ll have a friend with him on the sidelines this Sunday.
Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was originally selected as an alternate, but he’ll now take part in it, replacing Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who’ll be unable to attend.
Fitzgerald will be making his seventh Pro Bowl appearance (2005, 2007-12). That’s the most appearances from any offensive player in team history.
Fitzgerald is now tied with Hall of Fame defensive back Roger Wehrli for the second most Pro Bowl selections among Cardinal players. He trails Hall of Fame safety Larry Wilson who has eight.
Fitzgerald is the only Cardinals offensive player to be selected to six straight Pro Bowls. The other two are Wilson (1965-70) and defensive back Aeneas Williams (1994-99).
The Pro Bowl will be held at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, HI, this Sunday. The game can be seen on NBC beginning at 5 p.m.
