Five-star big man Taeshon Cherry was in attendance for both of Arizona State’s games against the Oregon schools last weekend. Him and his family got to see the expanded Wells Fargo Arena, the 942 Crew and Bobby Hurley’s squad on display firsthand.

It apparently made an impression as Cherry committed to the Sun Devils on Tuesday night.
247Sports rates Cherry as the #27 prospect in the 2018 class.
The one-time USC commit is 6-foot-8 and 210 pounds. 247Sports national basketball analyst Josh Gershon provided the following analysis on Cherry:
“The five-star prospect’s best value may be his versatility. He can play the three given his talent as a shooter, while he can also play in the interior due to his motor and finishing ability.
Depending on how his body and athleticism develop, he could be able to play and defend both the three and four spots at the next level.”
Cherry, along with five-star guard Luguentz Dort and four-star wing Elias Valtonen, make up the Sun Devils’ 2018 class.
ASU has never signed two Top-50 recruits in a class or three Top-75 recruits in a class.
