On This Episode

Sunrise Mountain Head Coach Steve Decker

The top seed in the 4A bracket are the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs. With a dual-threat quarterback, one of the most consistent wide receivers and a stout defense, head coach Steve Decker feels confident in his team’s ability but knows navigating this division will be no easy task.

Cienega Head Coach Patrick Nugent

For the second straight year, the Cienega Bobcats are the top seed in 5A. This division is not short on talented teams or storylines, and Nugent knows a state championship would not only bring respect to the school but the city of Tucson as a whole.

Desert Ridge Head Coach Jeremy Hathcock

Desert Ridge is one of the most intriguing stories in the 6A bracket. They are a very young team, have battled through injuries and are in a division that features some of the best talent in Arizona, and they’re the #2 seed in this year’s playoffs. Coach Hathcock shares how the Jaguars have thrived using two quarterbacks this year, the leadership on the defense and how they’ve been able to appear in five of the last seven state semifinals.

Arizona Varsity’s Ralph Amsden

Few have the knowledge of the entire Arizona high school football scene that Arizona Varsity’s Ralph Amsden possesses. Amsden leads off with a corny joke and then goes in-depth on the 3A-6A regions and who could be some surprise teams in this year’s postseason.
