Nick Foles, like 327 other invitees to the NFL Scouting Combine, has something to show, as he gets ready for the next chapter in his football career: the NFL.
It’s tough when you have guys like Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Ryan Tannehill, Brandon Weeden, Kirk Cousins and Brock Osweiler bunched in with you in this year’s quarterback class. So to be considered a “second-tier” quarterback isn’t bad at all.
It’s what you show here in Indianapolis over the next few days that will make you stand out, and the time is right for Foles to do just that.
With Luck and Griffin not throwing this week, and Tannehill out with a broken foot, what better time for Foles to show off his skills to whomever is willing to watch?
Foles didn’t turn any heads at the Senior Bowl practices, according to draft experts, but did redeem himself quite nicely in the game, going 11-15 for 136 yards and a touchdown.
If Foles exits Indianapolis, having left everything on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium, and impresses in the interviews and all else that comes with the combine, then maybe he can rise higher than a second or third round selection, which is where he’s currently slated to fall.
