Former Arizona State pitcher Ryan Burr found out at 2:30 AM on Wednesday morning that he was getting the call to the big leagues.
The Chicago White Sox purchased his contract from Triple-A Charlotte early Wednesday prior to the Sox game against the Minnesota Twins.

Burr was drafted out of Highlands Ranch High School in Colorado by the Texas Rangers in the 33rd round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He opted to go to ASU where he spent three seasons with Sun Devils.
Burr is the only Sun Devil to hold opposing hitters to under a .150 batting average in back-to-back seasons (.141 in 2013, .149 in 2014) and finish his three-year career with a .184 opposing average, according to ASU athletics. The righty finished his career at ASU with a school-record 38 saves.
After his junior season, Burr was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fifth round of the 2015 Draft. The D-backs traded Burr to the White Sox for international signing bonus pool money in August of 2017. He was the No. 22 rated prospect for Arizona at the time.
