I saw a tweet late Friday night that the Arizona Wildcats had landed a JUCO quarterback. Here is what I have been able to learn this morning on that front.
Athletic quarterback Jerrard Randall(6-1, 188) from Northeast Mississippi Junior College committed to the Cats on Friday. He threw for 861 yards and 7tds(10 ints) this past season.
While the numbers aren’t anything special, Randall was a big time high school quarterback our of Hollywood, Florida. His roadmap started with a commitment to University of Oregon(didn’t qualify), then to LSU, over to JUCO, and now to Tucson.
Randall is the second quarterback commit for Rich Rodriguez. Brandon Dawkins from Oaks Christian in California will sign with the Cats in February.
Quarterback will certainly be an interesting position battle in 2014 for the Cats. Former Chaparral High star Conner Brewer, former USC quarterback Jesse Scroggins, highly regarded Anu Solomon and Javelle Allen, who backed up B.J. Denker this season, all are on the roster.
