Former Sun Rex Chapman arrested

Arizona Sports News online

As if there hasn’t been enough embarrassing news in the Valley sports scene this week, Friday afternoons arrest of former Phoenix Suns guard Rex Chapman was a real shock.
“King Rex” spent 12 years in the NBA, held front office and broadcasting roles and was very popular in the community.
Arrested for Organized Retail Theft and Trafficking in Stolen Goods is the last thing I would’ve ever expected to write when putting something together on Chapman.
Shoplifting from an Apple Store in Scottsdale and then selling off the items at a local pawn shop. Allegedly he would pick up items in the store and then make it appear as though he was paying for them with his iPhone App through the self checkout line. He would
take the items out of the store and go to the shop and sell them for cash. He is facing nine felony counts.
