Arizona State picked up a big commit Monday morning in four-star safety Evan Fields out of Midwest City High in Oklahoma.

Fields told Scout.com that ASU defensive backs coach T.J. Rushing played a big role in the decision as well as Barrett, the Honor College, ASU’s honors academic program.

Fields chose ASU over Notre Dame, Kansas State, TCU, Oregon and UCLA. He said that it was his official visit that sealed the deal and set the tone for other visits.
“It is just a different vibe there,” Fields told Scout.com. “It is laid back and I am a laid back dude…The campus is huge. It is much bigger than Oklahoma City. It was a whole new experience, new people.”

Fields is ASU’s second four-star safety commit in the last week. Wednesday, local product K.J. Jarrell committed to the Sun Devils over USC and Cal.
