IF the Cardinals win Monday nights home opener against Dallas, then the Valley bandwagon will be rolling. A loss to the Cowboys means the Valley turns full attention to the Diamondbacks playoff run. Fair or not, the Cowboy game is always overhyped and overvalued. Losing a game in late September isn’t likely to make or break the season, but for some fans the result against the Cowboys is all that matters.
Dallas is the game where fans can make back their entire season ticket cost, by selling their seats for this one game.
Dallas is the game where you’ll see so many white and blue Cowboy jerseys in the parking lot and stands, you’d swear you were at a Cowboys convention.
This game is like the Arizona State fan saying “all that matters is we beat Arizona, I don’t care if we don’t win any other games, it’s a successful season if we beat the Cowboys(I don’t get this logic, but ok)
This is like the Diamondbacks and Suns fans chanting “beat LA”.
To me, it’s another game to see if Carson Palmer can get his season straightened out. It’s a game where the microscope on the Arizona offensive line struggles will be that much sharper.
It’s Dez Bryant v Patrick Peterson. It’s the future Hall of Fame tight end, Jason Witten, trying to continue the early season run of opposing tight ends having their way with the Cardinals defense.
It’s Dallas vs Arizona. Nothing else on 2017 schedule will have more of an impact on casual fans(most people in AZ) deciding whether to support their heroes on the gridiron.
Party in the Pool
When the Diamondbacks clinch the postseason Wild Cards berth in the next few days, I am expecting to see some serious pool time by the hometown 9. With the magic number down to 4, clinching on their home turf and racing out to the right field wall and diving in, should be the order of the night…
Archie Bradley’s charisma is right up near the top of players that I’ve seen in ANY Arizona sports uniform. Top five? I’d say so…
