Two weeks from today Arizona State’s dream of a Pac-12 South title could be over. USC and UCLA are on the calendar the next 13 days. Part of me wants to believe that the last three-quarters against New Mexico were pretty good for a dress rehearsal.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver fired a shot across the bow of women’s basketball this past week. “We thought the WNBA would’ve broken through by now, we thought the ratings and the attendance would’ve been higher.”
I was the original play-by-play voice of the Phoenix Mercury 20 years ago and I coached both of my daughters in club basketball so I am a fan of giving women an equal opportunity. With that said, I have to agree with what Silver said. He added “if there were a silver bullet-an easy answer-we would have made the change.” I would suggest the WNBA powers that be, sit down with the people who run women’s tennis. THAT sport has figured out how to be mainstream…
