Hamilton and Desert Vista are familiar with each other as they both are former members of the 5A Division I Fiesta Region. These two teams also met this season on October 6th, 2011 at Desert Vista where Hamilton got off to a fast start and never looked back, winning 35-10.
In the game, Hamilton three-year starter Kendyl Taylor tallied 160 total yards from scrimmage, along with two receiving touchdowns. The Hamilton defense forced three turnovers in the game as well.
Both teams are similar statistically. They both gain a majority of their yards on the ground (a little less than 220 rush yards a game).
Though the coaches did not acknowledge it, there is some bad blood between these two teams. There was an altercation between Coach Belles and Coach Hinds after their game back in October. But Belles said that “We spoke on Sunday and Dan and I are good friends.”
Hamilton Defensive Tackle Jaxon Hood thought otherwise. “This game is personal. We got some bad blood between these teams,” Hood said.
Desert Vista Running Back Michael Arrendondo added, “They definitely have to beat us twice to beat state champs.”
Hamilton and Desert Vista kick-off on Saturday November 26th at 2pm from University of Phoenix Stadium.
