For young up and coming athletes, the ultimate guidance and coaching comes from players who have had the opportunity to play at the highest level of competition. For Hamilton baseball’s clean-up hitter Cody Bellinger, he has been given that guidance his entire life from someone who has four World Series rings with the New York Yankees, his Dad Clay Bellinger.
Clay Bellinger spent 13 years in professional baseball between the majors and minors. Though his son Cody is too young to remember those championship games, he has dreams of achieving the same success on the ultimate stage.
Father and son, Cody and Clay, have also had great success together on the diamond. Clay coached Cody and ten other of Chandler’s top little leaguers to the little league world series in Williamsport, PA. An experience very few will ever experience.
Cody now has seen continued success as a member of the Hamilton High School baseball team and continues to be coached by his dad. But now the dream of following in his fathers footsteps are getting closer to becoming a realty as Cody just finished his junior season.
Pros2preps.com met with Cody and Clay Bellinger to learn of the already special ride they have shared on the baseball diamond and what the future could hold for Cody.
