The Highland Hawks run to the 6A state semi-finals last fall capped off one of the best seasons in school history. Wednesday afternoon in Gilbert the good times continued with five more scholar-athletes signing their letters of intent to play college football.
The group includes Kohner Cullimore (Southern Utah), Kyle Hester (New Mexico), Cooper Holman (Western Colorado), Griffin Nielson (Western Colorado) and Austin McNamara (Texas Tech).

“To have all their friends here, to have their family here at such an important time in their life,” Highland head coach Brock Farrel said. “It warms my heart that they’re that excited.”
The ceremony for all the outgoing senior student-athletes was held in the gym before a large, boisterous crowd.
It was a time of reflection for the five football players continuing their playing careers.
“It’s truly incredible knowing everyone has each other’s backs,” Cullimore, who will serve his two-year Mormon Mission before attending SUU, said with a smile. “That’s what I’m [going to miss the most]. Next is the student section. Not very many high schools have as good of student sections as we do.”
