Could it be that Arizona State is playing for the Pac-12 South title in Tucson? It’s looking more and more like this years Territorial Cup will actually mean something more than playing an equally below average team to determine who gets to go to a third tier bowl game. The Pac-12 South title has a pretty good shot of being on the line when the Sun Devils go to Tucson later this month.
Saturday afternoon in Tempe Arizona State ran over #15th ranked Utah like the Utes were a speed bump. The final score was 38-20 Sun Devils, but if not for a interception by Manny Wilkins as the Sun Devils were driving for a score, and a missed field goal by Brandon Ruiz, ASU would’ve been pushing 50 points on a Utah team that came into the matchup touted as the top defense in the Pac-12 South.
How many ways did ASU hammer the visitors? N’Keal Harry (who should walk out with the seniors next week) destroyed Utah to the tune of 9 catches 161 yards and 3 TDs.
Eno Benjamin ran through, around, and over the Utes for 176 yards and 2 scores.
With the victory, Arizona State continues to rise in the Pac-12 South and is just a game behind Utah and Arizona in the standings.
