Highland’s Ammon Allen Made Football “Full-Time Job” For Senior Year, Next Level

Arizona Sports News online

Highland safety Ammon Allen has been a versatile player with a very good Highland defense over the past two seasons.

After coming off a junior season where he had 73 tackles, four tackles for loss and four interceptions, Allen used his extended offseason to gain 20 pounds and maintain his speed.

He viewed football as “a full-time job” during that time. He ate eight meals a day to help spur that good weight gain.

Allen has made an impact early in the 2020 season with a pick-6, three tackles and a fumble recovery. Many Highland starters, Allen included, have not seen much time in the second half of games because the Hawks have jumped out to big early leads.

On the recruiting front, Allen holds offers from NAU, Morehead State, Air Force, Navy, New Mexico State, Army, Eastern Michigan and Idaho. His focus currently is on Highland’s season and hopes to make a commitment after the season.

He breaks down some of those schools, the culture at Highland and where he’s improved on the Recruiting Roundup.
