Horizon tight end Jay Rudolph went from one year of starting experience at the position to Division I commit.
On Friday, Rudolph committed to San Diego State.

In addition to San Diego State, he holds offers Air Force, Army, Abilene Christian, NAU, Georgetown, Colgate, Northern Colorado, Lehigh and Montana State.
Rudolph saw both sides of the field for the Huskies as a junior, bringing in 31 catches for 550 yards and eight touchdowns as well as notching 31 tackles and an interception on defense.
Horizon head coach Ty Wisdom sat down with Sports360AZ during spring ball and said Rudolph is just getting started as a tight end.
“He’s played 11 games at tight end,” Wisdom said. “We’re working on his route running a lot, flexibility. He’s already improving on that. His hands are solid. We’re just going to continue on his route-running. It will be a fun senior year for him.”
The Aztecs have recruited Arizona well. Former Arizona prep stars Zidane Thomas, Kyree Woods and Turner Bernard are all currently on the roster. Desert Edge defenisve lineman Nassir Sims and Skyline athlete Daniel To’oto’o also signed with San Diego State in the class of 2019 recruiting cycle.
