HUGE $$$ for World Series Tix, Glendale looking at MLS?

Arizona Sports News online

How much would you spend to see the Cubs v Indians in the World Series? I read where tickets to the games 3,4,5 in Chicago are going for a minimum of 3k per game for STANDING ROOM in the stadium. Not even a seat! The numbers coming out of Cleveland are pretty amazing too.

I made a crack about “battling Cubbies” the other night on my twitter feed and got buried by some who just don’t have a sense of humor. It’s a fun time…

Been hearing rumblings around town in recent weeks that Major League Soccer has the eye of a couple of Valley sports owners. Not surprised. Phoenix is the only market in the top ten in the country without a MLS franchise. If you’re the Cardinals, adding additional events to Glendale in the Spring and Summer makes quite a bit of sense. Stay tuned…

Too much attention to barnyard excrement, not enough attention to W’s and L’s by ASU football fans. Losing the football game to Washington State should be what people are talking about, not a verbal confrontation by Todd Graham to Mike Leach after a blowout loss. Makes for great talk show material, but I am more interested in seeing the pass defense improve. Hasn’t happened this season…

Rich Rod told me on this weeks TV show he may rotate three quarterbacks this Saturday night v Stanford. Three!!

Thumbs up to the Pac-12 Network for hiring Eddie House as an analyst for basketball. “Casa” can talk(and shoot). He will be terrific…

Lost during the Cardinals game on Sunday night was a moment in the broadcast where Cris Collinsworth brought up the possibility of Bruce Arians, Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald all leaving the NFL together. By the way, Pro Football Focus http://www.profootballfocus.com (Collinsworth is the majority owner of the website) were not complimentary to a few of the Cardinal players for their showing vs Seattle. Offensive lineman(RG) Earl Watford and (RT) D.J. Humphries both graded out below 40% for the game. The analytics website noted that Palmer was pressured on 38 percent of his drop-backs. He’s not going to make it through the season at that rate. I continue to believe that the franchise should’ve used a high draft pick on a quarterback last spring. They didn’t. Their first round pick is seeing about as much playing time as the number one overall selection, Jared Goff…

Tony_LaRussa1Some high-level baseball folks would not be surprised to see Tony La Russa managing the Diamondbacks next season. Ok, so pick your jaw up off the floor. These are serious baseball people. Who wouldn’t want a Hall of Fame manager in the dugout right? Well, things haven’t gone swimmingly for the franchise since La Russa was hired. There’s no guarantee that he would be the much-needed antidote to get the franchise off the ice burg. I’d go with former Padres skipper Bud Black, but that’s just me…
