Sean Miller has had success finding lottery picks outside of the United States’ borders. From Lauri Markkanen to Deandre Ayton to Josh Green, he’s been able to attract players who were born outside the U.S. or logged a lot of minutes internationally to come to Tucson.
He might have found his next international playmaker on Saturday, earning a commitment from point guard Kerr Kriisa according to ESPN’S Jonathan Givony.
The international list for Sean Miller and Arizona continues to grow:
2016: Lauri Markkanen (🇫🇮), Keanu Pinder (🇦🇺)
2017: Deandre Ayton (🇧🇸), Emmanuel Akot (🇨🇦)
2018: Omar Thielemans (🇧🇪)
2019: Josh Green (🇦🇺), Christian Koloko (🇨🇲)
2020: Ben Mathurin (ðŸ‡ðŸ‡¹/🇨🇦), Kerr Kriisa (🇪🇪)— Justin Spears (@JustinESports) April 18, 2020
Krissa played in the NKL in Lithuania this past season and averaged 14.8 points and 6.0 assists in 24 minutes per game according to ESPN. He also has played in multiple international tournaments for Estonia’s junior and senior national teams.
The Wildcat roster will look vastly different from last year, with a large group departing from Tucson headlined by freshmen Nico Mannion, Zeke Nnaji and Josh Green, who are projected to be first round picks in this year’s NBA Draft.
