Player of the Week
* I know Washington lost to Agua Fria but it’s not very often that a state record gets broken. Rams QB Mario Armendarez threw for 750 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Coach of the Week
* Rich Wellbrock – Desert Edge – Playing with a backup QB, Wellbrock and his Scorpions took it to Top 10 ranked Peoria, winning 69-25.
Team of the Week
* Pinnacle – What a great game versus Brophy! Pinnacle won 32-31 on a late 46 yard field goal by Jeff McGuire. The Pioneers gave Brophy their first loss of the year.
Quarterbacks
* Desert Edge’s Alias Sturges had 139 rushing yards, 162 passing and 5 total TDs in their win over Peoria.
* Catalina Foothills’ Rhett Rodriguez had 7 TDs versus Rincon.
* Travis Lockhart from Hamilton threw for 257 yards and had 3 total TDs against Red Mountain.
* Agua Fria’s Jaylen Green rushed for 268 yards and 3 TDs and passed for 160 yards and 3 TDs in Agua Fria’s 96-74 win over Washington.
* Weston Murphy from Williams Field had 307 yards and 2 TDs versus Queen Creek.
* Drew Inness from Northwest Christian had 281 yards and 4 TDs versus Cortez.
* Israel Loveall from Bagdad had 4 TDs.
* Sunrise Mountain junior Chase Cord had 4 TDs versus La Joya.
Running Backs
* Macarius Blount from Mt. Pointe rushed for 266 yards and 3 TDs versus Basha.
* Adam Gutierrez from Sierra Linda had 220 yards.
* Chris Cofield from Agua Fria rushed for 357 yards and 7 TDs against Washington.
* Canyon del Oro’s Garrett Woodlock caught 7 passes for 128 yards and rushed for 73 yards in their loss to Cienega.
* Taking over for an injured Amarii Keyes, Skyline’s Kaleb Hardin had 143 yards and 3 TDs versus Mt. Ridge.
* American Leadership’s Jeremiah Boyd had 246 yards and 3 TDs against Valley Christian.
* Saguaro’s Stone Matthews had 153 yards and 3 TDs against Westwood.
* Sunrise Mountain’s Garrett Veldhuzien had 6 TDs versus La Joya.
Receivers
* Hamilton’s Kaleb Pitts caught 8 passes for 125 yards and 1 TD versus Red Mountain.
* Byron Murphy from Saguaro caught 4 passes for 127 yards and 2 TDs against Westwood.
* DaJon Griffin from Cesar Chavez had over 100 yards and 2 scores against Carl Hayden.
* Pahoran Fornes from Washington caught 9 passes for 201 yards against Agua Fria.
* Roger Hernandez from Washington caught 6 passes for 199 yards and 4 TDs against Agua Fria.
Defense/Special Teams/Misc.
* Desert Edge LB Alex Aguirre had 4 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 1 TFL, 1 forced fumble, 2 pass break ups and returned 2 interceptions for TDs against Peoria.
* Tommy Lawrence from Marana Mt. View had 4 INTs.
