Player of the Week

In the state’s marquee match up of the week, Horizon QB Dalton Sneed threw 6 TDs and ran for another as Horizon beat Boulder Creek

QBs

* Junior Kare Lyles from Saguaro threw for 261 yards and 5 TDs versus Greenway.

* Chandler’s Bryce Perkins had 400 yards and 6 TDs against Perry. He broke Chandler’s single season TD record.

* Jagan Cleary from Yuma Catholic had 277 yards and 5 TDs against Bourgade. Three TDs went to Donovan Rooks.

* Jared Fleming from Estrella Foothills had 421 yards and 6 total TDs against River Valley.

* Basha’s Ryan Kelley had 436 yards and 6 TDs against Highland. Three of his WRs went over the century mark, those were Jared Schmidt, Hunter Rison and Doc O’Connor.

* Sabino’s Emilio Araiza threw 5 TDs against Cholla.

* Heath Motes from Thatcher makes the list again. He had 423 yards rushing and 5 TDs. He also had 2 passing TDs.

* AJ’s Adam Abbatacola threw for 194 yards and 6 TDs and rushed for 114 yards and another TD against South.

* Junior Easton Palomino from Deer Valley threw for 387 yards and 5 TDs against Kellis.

* Bailin Markridge from O’Connor threw 4 TDs against North Canyon.

* Valley Vista’s Akil Abdullah had 347 yards in the air, 102 on the ground and 4 total TDs in a loss to Chavez.

* Higley’s Mason Crossland had 384 yards and 6 TDs versus McClintock. Trent Gilbert had 156 yards and 3 scores.

* Sunrise Mountain’s Chase Cord had 333 yards and 6 TDs versus Independence. Tristin Decker had 3 TD catches.

* Winslow’s Rey Velez had 203 yards and 4 TDs versus Ganado.

* Rhett Ricedorff from Show Low had 257 yards and 3 TDs in a win over Fountain Hills.

* Seton Catholic’s Zach Wade had 6 total TDs versus Combs.

RBs

* Sahuaro remained undefeated behind the running of Derik Hall. He had 204 yards and 5 TDs and added a 6th score on a pick 6.

* Braden Bushman from Williams Field had 216 yards and 1 TD in a win over Queen Creek.

* River Valley’s Brandon Long had 282 yards and 4 TDs against Estrella Foothills.

* Highland’s Josh Chadwick had 260 yards and 1 TD in a loss to Basha.

* Taren Morrison from Desert Ridge had 260 yards and 4 TDs versus Red Mountain.

* Mike Franzese had 177 yards and 3 TDs.

* Bailey Thompson from PV had 3 TDs versus Cactus Shadows.

* Moon Valley’s Cody Buckholz had 3 TDs as the Rockets handed Alhambra their 1st loss.

* Coronado’s Victor Caison-Washington had 211 yards and 3 TDs versus Cortez.

* Dante Anderson from Amphi rushed for 380 yards and 7 TDs against Rio Rico.

Receivers

* Apollo sophomore Dre Marin had 7 catches for 168 yards and 2 TDs against Willow Canyon.

* Desert Mountain’s Cody Carpenter had 8 catches for 104 yards and 3 TDs in a loss to Skyline.

* Brandon Krcilek from Hamilton had 8 catches for 112 yards and 2 TDs against Gilbert.

* Danny Mahan from Chandler had 175 yards and 2 TDs versus Perry.

Special Teams/Defense/Misc.

* Buena DB Jacob Valdez broke the school record with a 99 KO return for a score.
