WASHINGTON D.C.-
Winter meetings are in full-effect in Washington DC, and each team is trying to add pieces to their squad, including Team USA for the World Baseball Classic this spring.
General manager Joe Torre and manager Jim Leyland addressed the media Monday to talk about the state of team, how they are planning to use their plethora of young arms that include Max Scherzer, Chris Archer, Marcus Stroman, Danny Duffy and Andrew Miller.
Torre also revealed two of the top young stars in the league, Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado and Miami Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich, will play for Team USA. Torre did note that as deals are made this offseason and potential team members find new baseball homes, that could impact the roster.
The World Baseball Classic runs from March 6th to March 22nd.
