One of Arizona high school’s top 2021 prospects will not be playing football this fall in southern Arizona as first reported by Arizona Daily Star columnist Greg Hansen.
“It was a decision that we reached recently when we found out the season was going to be almost impossible to carry out safely,” Miller said to Sports360AZ.com Friday evening. “In my situation I’m blessed to say that I can skip the season and work [towards] getting to Oregon.”
Miller, one of the main anchors on Salpointe Catholic’s Open Division semi-final team, transferred to Sahuaro in the spring before committing to the Ducks in early May.
The slimmed down 6-foot-8, 275-pound offensive tackle/guard is currently taking on-line classes through Apex Learning to expedite his path to Eugene.
“I’ll be taking an accelerated on-line course throughout the fall semester and hopefully be able to enroll at Oregon either in January or at the March deadline,” he explained.
He started his Apex classes earlier this week and said all the Tucson Unified Schools are presently conducting classes on-line, including his former school Sahuaro.
Miller, a four-star prospect according to 247sports.com, picked the Ducks over Arizona, Arizona State and a number of high-profile programs around the country including Florida, Penn State, Texas, USC, Washington and several others.
