Josh Christopher Declares For NBA Draft

As one of the highest-ranked recruits in program history, Josh Christopher was almost always expected to be a one and done at Arizona State. Now it’s official.

On Wednesday night, the guard out of Mayfair High School declared for the NBA Draft via a social media post. Christopher put up 14.3 points per game during his one year in Tempe.

Some of his top performances included a 28-point game against No. 3 Villanova in November. In 13 of his 15 games played, Christopher put up double-digit scoring efforts.

However, his flashes of talent were short-lived, as the Southern California product missed 11 games due to injury and COVID-19 protocols in a challenging year for Bobby Hurley and the program.

Fellow ASU freshman standout Marcus Bagley has not yet declared for the draft, but he is also expected to be an NBA talent in the future. Seniors Remy Martin and Kimani Lawrence have also not yet announced their intentions on whether they’d like to return for an extra year.

Last week, Hurley added three players to the roster with Boston College transfer Jay Heath, Robert Morris transfer AJ Bramah, and landing a commitment from center Enoch Boakye
