Karé Lyles to Follow Father’s Footsteps, Commits to Wisconsin

Arizona Sports News online

One of the top quarterback prospects for the 2016 class in Arizona is now off the board as Saguaro Quarterback Karé Lyles has announced his commitment.

Just three days ago, Lyles took an unofficial visit to Madison and it did not take long for him to receive his first offer from the Badgers. He did not wait long as Sunday, he announced a commitment in return.

“I really loved the staff and their facilities are the best I’ve seen,” said Lyles. “Madison has amazing atmosphere, it just feels like a college town.”

The 6-1, 215 quarterback played his first full season as the starting quarterback as a junior last season stepping in for now California Golden Bear, Luke Rubenzer. Lyles led the Sabercats to a state championship in division III completing over 70% of his passes for 3,420 yards, 40 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

Wisconsin is near and dear to the Lyles family as Karé’s father Kevin played for the Badgers. He was a tight end for a Wisconsin team that won a Rose Bowl in the 1990s.

Lyles’s younger brother Kayden also has an offer from Wisonsin and is one of the top retreats on the offensive line in the country for the 2017 class. Karé’s commitment could be the start of big things to come for Wisconsin with the last name of Lyles on their roster.
