Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb missed the last five minutes of Monday afternoon’s workout after being kneed in the right thigh during at drill at NAU’s Walkup Skydome.
Kolb limped away from the action, laying on the turf before being attended to by team trainers. Moments later he left the field under his own power and iced the injury in the training facilities as practice concluded.
Cardinals officials listed the injury as a quad contusion. He will be re-evaluated Monday night.
The Cardinals only practice Tuesday will be an afternoon workout here in Flagstaff.
Kolb is battling John Skelton for the starting job heading pre-season opener Sunday against the New Orleans Saints in Canton, Ohio.
