The wait is finally over.
Kurt Warner’s place in gridiron mortality was further cemented Saturday evening when the former St. Louis Rams, New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals quarterback was selected as a member of the 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The rags-t0-riches quarterback who once stocked shelves at an Iowa grocery story spent five seasons (2005-09) in Arizona where he started 57 of 61 games while leading the Cards to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance following the 2008 season. He led Arizona to back-to-back NFC West titles, while re-writing the franchise record books in the process. During the 2008 season Warner established Cardinals regular season franchise records for attempts (598), completions (401), completion percentage (67.1) and consecutive games with a TD pass (22). Warner’s 30 touchdowns and 96.9 passer rating in 2008 represent the second-best single-season totals in franchise history trailing only Carson Palmer’s 35 touchdowns and 104.6 rating in 2015.

His career numbers include over 32,000 passing yards and 208 touchdowns. He was a two-time NFL MVP (1999, 2001), as well as the Super Bowl XXXIV MVP. The four-time Pro-Bowler is the only quarterback in league history to amass 300 passing yards in three Super Bowls.
Warner was joined in this year’s class by kicker Morten Anderson, running back Terrell Davis, safety Kenny Easley, defensive end Jason Taylor, running back LaDainian Tomlinson and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
