Welcome to The Official Visits, a weekly recruiting notebook I plan to post each Friday night giving you insight from some of Arizona’s top high school football prospects and commits. Each edition will have multiple interviews with players around the state covering where they are in their recruitment and the interesting aspects that make their experiences unique.
Gavin Broscious – Desert Edge
On this edition, we have a few 2022 trench warriors who were offered by ASU this offseason. We’ll start with Desert Edge’s Gavin Broscious. The left guard started as a freshman from day one for Jose Lucero and continues to help anchor the Scorpion line. I talked to Broscious this offseason, and one thing he has focused on is being a vocal leader now as a sophomore. He also discusses the Arizona State offer he received this spring:
Anthony Lucas – Chaparral
Chaparral 2022 defensive lineman Anthony Lucas was another player the Sun Devils targeted and offered when they hosted some of the top sophomores in the state. The 6-5, 265 pound lineman styles his game after J.J. Watt and has a bright future according to head coach Brent Barnes. Lucas has lofty goals for the Firebirds and his personal accomplishments over teh next few years.
Jay Rudolph – Horizon
Horizon tight end Jay Rudolph has been one of the best players at his position for multiple seasons now. The Huskies are coming off a big win against Higley on Friday, and I was able to catch up with Rudolph and Horizon coach Ty Wisdom to talk about the tight end’s commitment to San Diego State and how he can further develop as a blocker and a pass catcher.
If you’re at a game on Friday nights, don’t forget to use #FridayNight360AZ on your social media posts, and we’ll be sure to share it.
