Arizona State Crushed in Sun Bowl

Embarrassing.

Now that we have that out-of-the-way, how did Arizona State get destroyed by North Carolina State 52-31 in the Sun Bowl?

North Carolina State played and looked like a team that wanted to be El Paso, while for three-quarters the Sun Devils looked like a squad that for the most part had checked out under fired head coach Todd Graham.

Missed tackles, three poor onside kicks, a missed field goal, and the CBS announcing crew openly critical of what was taking place on the field for the first three-quarters. If there was a positive on the day, other than the clock hitting 00:00 I didn’t see it. Even when the Sun Devils came out of their slumber, it felt like NC State had taken the foot off the pedal.

Incoming head coach Herm Edwards and staff have enough tape to look at any player not named N’keal Harry and say “you are guaranteed nothing”. Harry was spectacular once again, 9-141-1 td.
Manny Wilkins was intercepted 3 times in the game.

North Carolina State quarterback Ryan Finley, a Paradise Valley high school alum, had an impressive showing for the Wolfpack 24-29-318 and 1 td.

Arizona State finishes the season 7-6.

Ok Herm, you’re on the clock.
