This is March, where history is made.
The first trip to the NCAAW Elite Eight is successful for the Wildcats after a 66-53 win over No. 3 Indiana. This is the first trip to the Final Four in program history.

Head coach Adia Barnes is in her fifth season as head coach and knows this moment means everything to the program. But, there’s still work to be done.
“It’s amazing, it’s surreal to know we’re going to the Final Four,” Barnes said. “This is an incredible journey and we’re just taking it in day by day.”
This was an offensive showcase for the Wildcats, shooting 9-21 (42.9 percent) from three. Turnovers created offense on numerous occasions, which led to an ever growing lead that the Hoosiers couldn’t overcome.
Aari McDonald led the team, per usual, scoring 17 points in the first half and finishing with 33. McDonald also led the team with 11 rebounds and four assists. She tops the 30 point mark for the second consecutive game.
“In the final minute I had no doubts,” McDonald said. ” I just knew we had this, we sealed it.”
“I’m letting the game come to me and my teammates and coaches are putting me in positions to succeed. I’m just letting the game come to me,” McDonald said.

Four years in the making
Four years ago, this program was nowhere near the NCAA tournament, finishing with only six wins. McDonald is trusting the process and is glad to see results coming to fruition.
“This is a surreal moment,” McDonald said. “You make goals and you see yourself and your team team achieve them. I’m proud of my team so much. This is a big day we just created more history.”
The Wildcats are playing No. 1 seed Connecticut on Friday April 2.
