It will be a hotly contested matchup in Tucson on Friday as #4 Salpointe Catholic hosts #5 Pinnacle. The Pioneers will be without senior quarterback JD Johnson on the field but will have talented freshman Devon Dampier under center. The Lancers will look to make a statement as not only the lone Southern Arizona team but as one of two 4A schools.

#4 Salpointe Catholic
Bijan Robinson has been absolutely dominant, rushing for nearly 2,000 yards and 36 touchdowns at 22 yards per carry. Lathan Ransom has shown why he is one of the highly recruited defensive backs in the nation. Up front, the Lancers are anchored by Bruno Fina and Jonah Miller. #5 Pinnacle
The 8-2 Pioneers have navigated a tough 6A schedule and notched wins against teams like Perry and Horizon. Marcus Libman and Cade Horton will be consistent weapons for Dampier to target and Matt Goodlow has been leading the way on the ground with 15 touchdowns. Offensive lineman and Notre Dame commit Tosh Baker sat down with Sande Charles at Venezia’s Pizzeria to talk about what Pinnacle needs to do to make a championship run.
