The PGA Tour has decided to start chipping away at the fun that we have in Scottsdale every year. Tuesday, the Tour announced that they are stopping the practice of caddie races. That’s right, caddie races. Golf Channel reported that the reason for the ban was for safety of the caddies. I’ve never seen a caddie bite the dust running from the 16th tee box to the hole.
No one is telling the caddies to sprint and a lot of them don’t even take part in the tradition. I’ve never heard any complaints about the races. I’m thinking that there are bigger issues for the Tour to worry about than watching grown men sprint 150 yards.
