The home of Phoenix Rising FC has a new name.
Phoenix Rising Sports Complex will become Casino Arizona Field after the club and Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community entered a mult-year agreement.
“I think when visitors come to Arizona, they know they want to visit Casino Arizona,” Phoenix Rising co-owner Tim Riester said. “When they go on to search Casino Arizona and see what other entertiainment is nearby, because they know that could be the base of their vacation, they’ll see this partnership and want to come see some of our games as well. We’re in that phase of starting our third season of Phoenix Rising FC, we’re all about introducing as many people to the brand, franchise and the sport.”
The growth of Rising in the community and on the field – the club made it to the 2018 USL championship – made it a partner from the SRPMIC community.
“The proximity of the field to the casino and the synergy between two big entertainment groups is what makes this the most sense,” associate director of public relations for Riester gaming and hospitality Shanna Wolfe said.
“I think fans of Caino Arizona will quickly become fans of Phoenix Rising if they’re not already.”
In addition to the partnership, FC Governor Berke Bakay announced a new road will be built to the stadium that could cut the time out of the stadium by 50% and adding seats to the stadium to bring the total capacity to around 10,000.
“As much as I know our boys are going to perform, it’s only natural to expect that…the brand growing will reflect that. We want to increase the experience and game day experience and that includes capacity for additional fans that I think we will need very soon.”
Rising will hold its home opener againts New Mexico United on Satuday at 7:30 pm.
