Arizona continues to roll as they extend their win streak to six games after a domination 99-61 win over Arizona State.
After the game, there was news on the Arizona program involving one of their players whom we have not seen on the court in a game since December 5th against Gonzaga for undisclosed reasons. Sean Miller spoke about the status of Elliott Pitts after the win who was not on the bench Wednesday night.
“Elliott Pitts has stepped away from the team for personal reasons and he will not be back for the rest of the year,” Sean Miller said Wednesday night.
Miller added that Pitts will finish up the semester academically at Arizona.
The junior guard played in just seven games this season where he struggled shooting from the floor averaging 26 percent from the floor scoring 2.3 points per game. That a step back from a solid role he played off the bench for the Wildcats last season as a sophomore where he was one of the team’s top shooters having shot 36.5 percent from behind the arc.
The Wildcats have a week off before the hit the road for a huge weekend against Colorado and then Utah.
