Arizona State University College FeaturedPlummer Reflective, Humbled By CFB HOF NodEric Sorenson Posted January 10, 2019 at 12:19 pm Share Tweet ShareRarely is Jake Plummer at a loss for words. The former Arizona State and Arizona Cardinals quarterback has always been one to speak his mind. However, upon receiving one of the biggest phone calls of his life earlier this week, Plummer seemed to be temporarily at a loss for words when he found out he would be part of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019.“I didn’t really know what to say,” Plummer said to Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat in a Skype interview Tuesday. “My son was sitting there when I received the package that had the ball in it. It kind of hit me then. ‘Like wow, all that hard work and all that time and sacrifice is worth it.”The always humble Plummer took to social media to thank his former coaches and teammates at ASU who helped make the accomplishment possible in the first place.I’m honored/humbled/surprised to be inducted into the 2019 @cfbhall alongside all the other amazing #ballers. I’m proud to represent all my @ASUFootball teammates/brothers &coaches that were instrumental in all of my success both on&off the field! #GoDevils— Jake Plummer (@snakestakes) January 7, 2019“I’m very honored,” Plummer explained. “I’m still sort of shocked and surprised but it’s sinking in.” Plummer was a 1996 First-Team All-American and was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year leading the Devils to a 1997 Rose Bowl birth. “The Snake’s” career totals in Tempe include 8,827 career passing yards (third in school history), 65 touchdown passes (fourth) and completions 632 (fifth). He also garnered All-Pac-10 Academic honors his final three seasons at ASU. The Boise, Idaho native was a second round pick of the Cardinals in 1997. He played 10 years in the NFL for both Arizona and the Denver Broncos and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2005.Plummer will enter the CFB HOF December 10th in New York City.Related posts: Plummer “Humbled, Honored” By CFB HOF Induction The Forgotten Coach Huard: Edwards, ASU Football Trending Up Share Tweet Share Arizona State footballASU FootballASU Sun DevilsCollege Football Hall of FameJake PlummerPac-10 football
