Porter Reynolds Talks Position Change, Early Offers

Arizona Sports News online

The Queen Creek defense was full of playmakers in the 2020 season. Right in the middle were the Reynolds brothers: senior linebacker Trey, who signed with Utah in the 2021 class, and sophomore defensive lineman Porter, who has been a young contributor on the field and in the weight room. In his first two years at the varsity level, Porter posted 121 tackles, six tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.

Now in 2021, Porter is looking to step in as an experienced leader on the defense while transitioning from defensive lineman to linebacker.

He has goals to have continued production and is learning from his big brother.

“I took (Trey’s) advice. I still listen to him and ask him questions,” Porter said. “I’m going to try to break his tackle record, that’s my goal for this year. I’m going to try to outdo him in all his stats because if I do that, I can be just as good as him, if not better.”

On the recruiting side, Reynolds holds offers from Colorado and Washington State.

He discusses the transition to a new position and what he wants to learn about the programs recruiting him in the video above.
